5000 metres: Karoline Bjerkeli Grøvdal ran a great 5000 meters race in the WC, and can distinguish herself by being the eighth best in the world. She recorded the time 14,57,62.
The Isfjorden girl left the field early, but managed the race well and picked up several positions in the last laps. This is Grøvdal’s best World Cup placing ever, in the Olympics she has seventh place. It is also the best WC placement by a Norwegian woman in eleven years, when Ingvill Måkestad Bovim came sixth in the 1500 metres.
Gudaf Tsegay did a large part of the race and became world champion with 14:46.29.
